Daraufhin werden die Feuerwehren der Stadt und der umliegenden Gemeinden alarmiert. Während der Kontrolle der Wohnung und des Ofens durch die Wasserburger Kameraden stellt die Feuerwehr Bachmehring zwei Atemschutztrupps auf Bereitschaft und schon nach kurzer Zeit heißt es glücklicherweise  Feuer aus .
